Bookkeeper: 32 Hours/week
This position will work to support the Finance department. This position will be responsible for the bookkeeping and accounting for the projects of IEH and payroll. The candidate must have excellent accounting and bookkeeping skills and be proficient with computer and accounting systems.

At Island Elderly Housing we believe the health and welfare of our employees is essential to our success as an organization. We provide our employees with generous paid time off for holidays, sick, vacation and personal leave.  In addition, we have established a comprehensive and valuable benefits program for our employees and eligible family members.  Currently, IEH contributes 75% of the premium for an employee’s medical/dental coverage and 100% of an employee’s vision coverage.   Below is a brief description of the employees’ benefits package:

  • Medical: We offer two medical plans with Blue Cross Blue Shield; HMO and PPO.  Employees may enroll in either medical plan on their first day of employment.  

  • Dental: We offer a dental plan that eligible employees can enroll in after 90 days of employment.   

  • Vision: We offer a vision plan that employees can enroll in after 90 days of employment. 

  • Life and Disability: We offer an employer sponsored basic life and disability plans.  

  • FSA: We offer our employees two different flexible spending accounts: a health and dependent care account.  

  • 403(b) Plan:  We offer our employees the opportunity to participate in a 403(b) Plan to help them save for their retirement. After one year of consecutive employment, IEH will match up to 10% of an employee’s contribution.
